Autodesk acquires BIM based softwares for enhancing the bridge and road workflows

Autodesk, Inc. recently acquired 3d model oriented design and analysis software from two individual British firms. This acquisition will facilitate the development of road and bridge workflows.

Autodesk acquired Sam from Bestech Systems Ltd. It is a pack of software modules designed for the load analysis in the design of small to medium span bridges. Sam can be very effective to minimize the design deviation of bridge analysis and bridge deck design.

Autodesk procures AutoTrack from Savoy Computing Services Ltd, an Autodesk Industry Partner and a member of the Autodesk Developer Network. AutoTrack is a package of software modules intended for road, light rail, airport, parking and intersection analysis. Architects, designers and engineers can utilize it in infrastructure planning design.

AutoTrack evaluates the operations of steered vehicles, light rail vehicles and aircraft (alias vehicle swept path analysis), and offers design tools for parking areas and circumlocutions at the time of drafting in AutoCAD-based environments.

The two platforms widespread its Building Information Modeling (BIM) for infrastructure software portfolio and will assist in enhancing the acceptability of BIM for transportation design.
