Beck Technology introduces Macro BIM Software DProfiler™ 2012 Rev. 1.0

DProfiler™ from Beck Technology is a Macro BIM solution for preconstruction stages which can be applied for planning and conceptual design. Contractors, architects, and owners utilize this BIM authorizing software to provide a precise, concurrent cost estimate of a proposed design and to take better, more informed decisions in advance.

The software is useful for 3D Modeling, cost estimation, energy analysis, Cut/fill analysis, site topography, sequencing and real estate dashboard.

Beck Technology just launched DProfiler™ 2012 by adding some new enhancements with 5D BIM cabality.

New enhancements range from Interior Representation Views, Site3D Analysis Enhancements, Tabular View Rooms Tab Contains Room Properties, All Model Components Can Have Their Own Name, “PerimeterofHole" is a New Parametric Variable for Holes in Slabs, Cone and Cylinder Removed from Shapes Toolbar, IFC Export Enhancements to Adhere to CDB-2010, Line Color and Line Thickness Preferences, Measure Tool Project Elevation, Model Data Exported to Google Eart, New Layer View UI, Tools view renamed to Commands, Project Tab in Tabular View UI Update, Energy Module Enhancements, Custom Reports, Sequencing Module.

With improved sequencing module the project stakeholder can generate a cost-loaded simulation of the construction sequence quickly, organize master plan phasing conflicts, investigate and learn sequencing what-ifs, demonstrate earned value or cash flow during the sequencing timeframe. Now project stakeholders will be able to add the combination of time and cost to a 3D model (generating 5D BIM) in a single, separate application.

A new customizable report is available to account essential data virtually in any format. Site design will be more improved and accurate as DProfiler™ 2012 generates 3D grading and cut & fill. Energy analysis capacities like shading from adjacent buildings will also be enhanced. Upgradation of interior space planning.

How Building Information Modeling facilitate rebar detailing process for structural detailers

A rebar alias reinforcing bar is considered as a common steel bar generally utilized in reinforced concrete (RCC) and reinforced masonry structures. Rebar are usually originated from carbon steel and are given ridges to be fitted with concrete in a better way.

BIM authorizing software like Tekla, Revit and AutoCAD are applied to generate and deliver precise rebar shop drawing from the solid 3D model as per the specifications and requirements of structure or building to maintain the exactness of bending operation and keep the required lap lengths and acchorage length .

With BIM the structural steel detailer can readily and precisely model all the components of structure together with concrete, rebar, mesh, connectors, and other accessories. Even composite shapes are smoothly reinforced exclusive of drawing individual bars.

rebar detailing

From a BIM model the steel detailer can generate 2D rebar placing drawings, bar bending schedules, and parts lists and with the alteration in 3D model all the related drawings and documents are mechanically updated.

BIM empower the rebar detailer to easily observe modeled concrete and rebar from any angle or distance to figure out and amend congestion problems or design flaws before they are visible at the jobsite. BIM can be useful for rebar detailing in the following ways :-
  • Rebar Shop Drawings & detailing (beams, slabs, columns, walls and foundations
  • Rebar Fabrication Drawings
  • Rebar Placement Drawings
  • 3d General Arrangement Drawing
  • Small Part Drawings
  • As Built Drawings
  • Rebar Roof Truss Drawing
  • Joist details
  • Retaining Walls Detailing
  • Concrete Masonry Detailing
  • Rebar Steel Detailing
  • Steel connection details
  • Bar Bending Schedules
  • Bar listing schedule
International Standards and Codes: ASTM (American Society of Testing Materials) ACI (American Concrete Institute) CRSI (Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute) AS (Australian Standards) BS (British Standards)

Newforma presents Newforma to Newforma, a new technology for sharing information smoothly among AEC firms

Newforma, the renowned developer of information management (PIM) software for global AEC firm, recently introduce a ground-breaking technology known as Newforma to Newforma to interchange information in a clear way and create uninterrupted workflows involving architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms and the owners.

The project team members get the ability to connect projects effortlessly, synchronize files, folders and models mechanically, interchange RFIs, submittals and file transfers.

By utilizing this new technology all the designers and outer consultants and contractors will be in a position to execute their live project work locally with the most up-to-date, organized set of BIM and CAD files.

Newforma to Newform empowers users to connect allocated folders on their network along with the related folders on their partners' networks. Thus this new technology has removed the time consuming and backdated manual process for incorporating and coordinating large BIM model sets.

All registered firms for a project can deal with the most up-to-date BIM models and CAD files, eliminate coordination risks, keep away from communication errors and enhance overall team responsiveness.
Newforma to Newforma is a function of the most recent edition of Newforma enterprise software in the Newforma product suites: Newforma Design Suite, Newforma Construction Suite and Newforma Owner Suite, which are available now.
