Trimble introduces new software series of Tekla to streamline BIM analysis & design process

Trimble recently launched three new versions of its building information modeling (BIM) and analysis & design software like Tekla Structures 2016Tekla Structural Designer 2016 and Tekla Tedds 2016 for engineering and construction professionals. These newly launched software offer superior collaboration and improved workflow toward structural steel and precast concrete designers, detailers and fabricators, concrete contractors, general contractors and structural engineers.

Tekla Structures 2016: Tekla Structures is the most sophisticated BIM software that can be used for generating perfect, constructible modeling concerning any steel or concrete structure. This most updated version makes the modeling process smarter as well as enhances productivity by simply preventing precious errors in the fabrication and construction stages. The software supports 17 languages together with Korean language.

Tekla Structural Designer 2016: Tekla Structural Designer 2016 facilitates the engineers to evaluate and design buildings competently. With this latest version, the performance is significantly improved in both modeling and processing time at the time of examining and designing structures. Now it becomes easier to deal with even bigger and more demanding models efficiently.
The seismic design capabilities of the software are now supported with added structural design and detailing checks for concrete structures adhering to U.S. codes. It is suitable to be utilized for higher classified earthquake regions.

Tekla Tedds 2016: The new version of Tekla Tedds, provides a solution for computerizing recurring structural calculations. New options convey more resilience and alternatives in favor of the analysis and design of retaining walls, foundations and steel and concrete beams adhering to both the U.S. building codes and Eurocodes.

Trimble (TRMB) and Nucor (NUE) Renew Their AEC Markets Collaboration Agreement Again

Trimble and Nucor Corporation again (3rd time) signing a multi-year agreement for extending their collaboration in AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) markets that started back in 2009.

Nucor can continue reaping the advantages of its investment in Trimble’s Tekla Structures Building Information Modeling (BIM) software package. This can be incorporated at the core of many business divisions, together with Nucor Buildings Group, Harris Rebar and Nucor Grating and leveraged as Nucor’s BIM resolution to deliver projects that’s unit values are economical, correct and constructible.

Both the businesses organization can work along to teach AEC stakeholders on effective workflows from model design through fabrication and construction, likewise as prepare students with the requisite skills to contribute to additionally ever BIM-centric industry. These organizations will conduct joint coaching for the business associated students with an aim to support appropriate curricula at academic and training institutions located close to Nucor's multiple fabrication facilities.

Nucor is witnessing strength across edge markets like automotive, energy and general producing as demand across these end markets stay healthy. The acquisition of Gallatin Steel Company has more fortified Nucor’s foothold within the key Midwest market, the largest flat-rolled absorbing region within the U.S.

Both companies think that this collaboration will extend their competitive advantage through higher quality and increased project efficiency in construction field. Trimble and Nucor share a standard vision for trade workflows and that they foresee to operating along with new initiatives to bring chance and education to Atomic Energy Commission practitioners and students across the country.

However, the steel industry continues to be looking a tough phase and market fundamentals still be challenging within the U.S. Nucor, like different steel manufacturers, remains plagued by surging domestic steel imports.

The AEC communities can get an end-to-end workflow solution with the strategic partnership between Trimble and the Nemetschek Group

Trimble and the Nemetschek Group, the renowned solution provider in digital modeling for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industries, make a partnership to widespread the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM) over the whole Design-Build-Operate (DBO) lifecycle of buildings. This amalgamation will speed up the synergistic methods to design modeling and 5D construction management with consolidation of data amid a wide array of the companies' products.

Trimble and Nemetschek plan to expand their voluminous international market and technology know-how and work together on programs to bring a significant change in the expansion and implementation of technologies in favor of the AEC industry and building owners.

Both the companies undertake the following initiatives :-

  • Evidently allocate data formats for developing new solutions and advance workflow interoperability amongst selected products over the DBO lifecycle;
  • Bridge the gap between Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) solutions & real data from the ground and real objects in the concrete world;
  • Promote interoperability and the durability of project data for the complete project lifecycle;
  • Sustain their specific strong commitments to open standards and workflows for the sake of the entire industry.

Trimble and Nemetschek plan to introduce the Trimble® Connect collaboration technology to incorporate workflows and make close connection amid selected Trimble solutions which rang\e from SketchUp, Tekla Structures, Vico Office, Trimble Prolog®, Trimble Field Link and MEPdesigner for SketchUp—and solutions in the Nemetschek portfolio, like Allplan, ArchiCAD, DDS, SCIA Engineering, Vectorworks and Nevaris.

Both companies prefer to employ the open standards and workflows—a highly recognized approach to the collaborative design, construction and operation of buildings. The functionality of Nemetschek Vectorworks is based on the Trimble Connect platform—a cloud-supported collaboration environment that offers an open environment for BIM-based AEC workflows—Trimble and Nemetschek are organizing their endeavors to denote the most successful technology for customers.

Tekla Structures 21 is very useful for industrial & commercial construction project workflows
Tekla, the leading developer of various model-based software products, has launched Tekla Structures 21, the newest version of its Building Information Modeling (BIM) software specifically designed toward the engineering and construction markets.

Tekla Structures 21 can be incorporated with Revit Architecture and Revit MEP, and SketchUp Pro for advanced collaboration.

Interoperability is increased to a great extent through integration with Intergraph Smart 3D to transmit model information efficiently. With the new bi-directional link with AVEVA PDM, advance level of detail can be obtained and exchanging of information as well as modifications can be managed in a superior way.

IFC change management and control become superior to identify, handle and implement modifications.

This latest software is best suited for industrial and commercial construction project workflows over various construction fields extending lots of advantages to structural steel and precast concrete designers, detailers and fabricators, concrete and general contractors, as well as improve co-operation amid Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and plant design engineers, architects and others.

In combination with Tekla Structures 21, Tekla is also going to introduce two new and exclusive services ranging from Tekla Model Sharing and Tekla Warehouse.

The new Tekla Structures 21 makes the productivity superior toward all structures and project types. The new version brings huge benefits to project managers, engineers, draughtsmen and detailers who deal with the various core engineering and production assignments consisting of design and analysis to documentation, detailing and manufacturing.

Tekla Structures 21 applies the power of BIM to significant part of designing, engineering and creating all types of buildings and structures.

Tekla Structures 21 can minimize the required time stuck between concept and construction with superior collaboration amid project team as well as productivity, allowing free flowing transmission connecting all project stakeholders. This can lead to well-organized design and formation of greater structures.
