Indoor - Mobile Mapping System for Laser Scanning

The latest technology in laser scanning is MOBILE MAPPING. With this technology one can scan while moving. This feature of the system saves lots of time on scanning and maintains accuracy during the geospatial data collection. MOBILE MAPPING SYSTEMS (MMS) has made a revolution in the indoor scanning market. Mobile Mapping System contains LiDAR-based SLAM technologies that remove the penetration problems particularly with interiors of buildings.

Indoor Mobile Mapping System known as I-MMS contains integrated 3D laser scanning & digital Imagery and facilitates the user to scan, map, and accumulate a entire 3D pointcloud.





This new technology contains a great Post-processing speed  as highly detailed 3D Point Cloud captures around 1.5x/2x time from the early acquisition scan. A typical scan of approx 10minutes would only involve a further 20minutes (total time 30minutes). This effect  in huge time saving from initial scan to final result.

The users can shift i-MMS all through the interior of the building with set-up installation and critical location positioning. The acquisition process is fast and easy. No limit on the size of the area being mapped.




The  I-MMS consists of 2 x compact LiDAR sensors, placed on the farthest left and right of the scanning zone. Each captures targets up to a range of 30 meters. The SLAM Localization is piloted through 1 x compact LiDAR sensor (centrally situated). The sensors offer full exposure of scan areas with full spherical field of view. The systems power autonomy is just about 6 hours, prior to recharging is needed.

This system will be useful for recalibration inspection of buildings that may have been damaged (structure has moved, subsidence), by an earthquake.
