Grpaphisoft launches powerful but affordable BIM tool, ArchiCAD

Renowned architectural software developer of Hungary, Graphisoft has release a low budget but powerful version of the primary Building Information Modeling or BIM software ArchiCAD. The Building Information Modeling or BIM is the talk of the AEC town now days. Concerning the BIM sector various hype and hoopla has been created now. Autodesk, Bently and Graphisoft have long been championing the benefits of using BIM to create intelligent models which can automatically produce coordinated project drawings.

But the present scenario is that this hype can not help much the AEC industry. The adaptation rate of BIM is quite slow still now. In the UK it is estimated that only 10 percent projects are completed using BIM technology against the conventional 2D technologies. The figure is far behind the total usage of BIM in America, where McGraw Hill Construction estimates 49 percent of practices use BIM tools.

ArchiCAD 14 continues to deliver productivity improvements for architects throughout the full cycle of BIM workflow with a specific focus on completing the integration of the architectural workflow with the engineering world. The professional architecture requires collaboration of all design disciplines. The architects play the fundamental role in coordinating all aspects of their design with other disciplines during the entire design process. ArchiCAD has turned the IFC technology into full fledged workflow solutions enabling collaboration with engineers regardless of their discipline or the name and version of the application they prefer working with. This "open" approach to interdisciplinary collaboration greatly broadens designers' options for real Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) resulting in faster delivered projects and significantly less coordination errors.
