Now Onshape includes new features for iPad Pro & Apple Pencil to transform your 3D Cad modeling process to the next level

Onshape, the leading solution provider in cloud and mobile CAD, introduces its first ever iOS app compatible with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.

With the inclusion of new "Force Zoom" feature, the users will be able to segregate a single pixel through the pressure-sensitive Apple Pencil. If the CAD users need to choose a specific piece of 3D geometry, they can take help from pressure to Pencil to zoom in and expand smaller portions. The tighter they press the screen, the zoom will be narrower. If you discharge the pressure, the screen will be returned to its original view.

Apple Pencil offers a two-handed workflow. The users can easily revolve or pan a model with single hand as well as apply Pencil to sketch, select and interrelate with the 3D models.

iPad Pro is enriched with superior portability, robust graphics, and CAD-friendly screen. iPad Pro provides multitasking capabilities like Split View, Picture in Picture, and Slide Over with which it becomes easier to switch back and forth amid apps or websites.

By applying Split View, a product development engineer can easily search for specifications out of a supplier catalog and simultaneously function on a model.

If the CAD users want to learn how to design on their iPad or iPhone, they can visit the Apple App Store and Onshape.com/Learn. To create a free account, sign up in the app or visit Onshape.com/signup.

The CAD users can access Onshape for iPhone & iPad App at free of cost in the Apple App Store.

Download some newest Revit add-ins from Revit App Store

Four newest Revit Add-ins are going to be introduced very soon. These Revit add-ins are still in QA testing stage. The Revit users can access these add-ins from Revit App store www.RevitAppStore.com.

Given below the details of these add-ins :-

eTransmit 2016 - eTransmit allows the Revit users to replicate a Revit model and subordinate files to a single folder to deliver through internet. Any model that is upgraded to Revit Release 2012 or higher and saved, can be transferred.

Model Review 2016 – It can automatically evaluate and check building information modeling (BIM) projects in Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® Revit® Architecture, Autodesk® Revit® MEP, or Autodesk® Revit® Structure software.

Batch Print 2016 - Batch Print will simplify the process for printing several drawings (views and sheets) from a Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® Revit® Architecture, Autodesk® Revit® Structure, or Autodesk® Revit® MEP software project.

Once the default printer and the Revit software project are ready, apply Batch Print to transmit various drawings to the printer and to organize the order in which they print. While commencing the print job, Batch Print organizes the printing of the drawings, devoid of any further communication from you. If necessary, the progress of the print job can be tracked through a status dialog.

Revit DB Link 2016 – It can Import and export data connecting an Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® Revit® Architecture, Autodesk® Revit® Structure, or Autodesk® Revit® MEP project and an external database, and then more easily sustain relationships of connected data with Autodesk® Revit® DB Link.>

How BIM is evaluated with various BIM Levels

There is technological evolution in construction industry. The construction industry is embraced with numerous technologies. Amid these technologies, BIM is considered as the game-changer.

With BIM it becomes easier to develop a digital prototype of a building. This feature enhances the flow of data during the progression of the building and as a result utmost productivities can be achieved.

After its emergence, BIM has undergone several changes which range from level 0 to level 3 (the most updated one). BIM has become more superior, more rationalized and more powerful in the past couple of years. Given below the brief description of BIM Levels.

Level 0 - Unmanaged CAD in 2D involving paper (or electronic paper) data exchange.

Level 1 - Managed CAD in 2D or 3D format through a collaborative tool that produces a common data environment together with a interchangeable approach to data structure and format. Commercial data is controlled with autonomous finance and cost management bundles with no consolidation.

Level 2 - A managed 3D environment constrains different discipline "BIM" tools by means of attaching data. Commercial data is controlled with enterprise resource planning software and incorporated with proprietary interfaces. This level of BIM may include 4D construction sequencing and/or 5D cost information.

Level 3 - A completely consolidated and collaborative process empowered with "web services" and adheres to nascent Industry Foundation Class (IFC) standards. This level of BIM will comprise of 4D construction sequencing, 5D cost information and 6D project lifecycle management information.
