This Revit video tutorial provides step-by-step guidances on how to save a copy of all families or a selected family in Revit 2017 which are loaded into any project.
Tips: As soon as a family is loaded into a project, it is saved with that project.
Some families are preloaded in the templates which are comprised in Revit. Any projects that have been formed with these templates contain the families loaded in the template.
Locate, preview, and load other families from the following sources:
• the Revit library that is set up with the software
• other local or networked libraries
• the Revit Web Content Library
• manufacturers’ websites
• other third-party websites
• other local or networked libraries

• other third-party websites
Most of the families which are loaded from the Revit library, the Revit Web Content Library and Autodesk Seek can be easily edited.
