Autodesk unveils AutoCAD® Utility Design 2012. It is a model-based software that provides design solution and documentation for overhead and underground electrical distribution networks more quickly and easily.
The software performs in AutoCAD® software environment and provides great assistance to utility designers with standards-driven workflows and analysis.
Integrated with building information modeling (BIM) system the software makes design layout simplifier, enhance infrastructure asset sizing and placement, boost efficiency, eliminate waste and computerize delivery of the consistent and coordinated construction documentation.
The software can easily settle multiple systems & applications and printing and distributing designs faster with fewer data errors by creating a complete model during the design process. Later on the design model data can be merged with other record for better planning, managing workflow and reporting.
With comprehensible template and predefined standards the software can standardize electrical distribution designs; analyze and optimize network performance and reliability and reorganize the design-to-build process.
The rich information in the model can also be connected to enterprise systems together with GIS, ERP and EAM (enterprise asset management) to maintain field and asset management activity.
